Immunization Requirements for Oklahoma Students
Vaccination Requirements
- DTaP/DTP/Td – 5 doses (or 4 doses if the 4th dose is given on or after the child’s 4th birthday)
- Polio – 4 doses (or 3 doses if the 3rd dose is given on or after the child’s 4th birthday)
- MMR – 2 doses
- Hepatitis B – 3 doses
- Hepatitis A – 2 doses
- Varicella – 1 dose (or history of chicken pox)

- 5 on or before September 1st

- Before School and After School Care for k – 5th Grade in Lawton Schools
- In addition to the two elementary schools located on post (Sheridan Road and Geronimo Road), there are six (6) other Lawton elementary schools that will pick-up and drop-off students from/at School Age Services:

In the afternoon, buses from all four (4) middle school and the three (3) high schools will bus students to the Youth Services Center.

Enrollment
Centralized Enrollment Center is located at the Douglass Professional Center, located at 102 E Gore Blvd, hours are from 8:00-3:00, phone number is (580) 248-7704. If you have a special needs child, please contact the Special Services Center before going to the Enrollment Center. Their number is (580) 353-0334.
- Pre-Kindergarten
- Children entering pre-k must be 4 years old on or before 1 September of the current year.
- Required documents include immunization records, certified birth certificate, and child’s social security number.
- Placement in pre-k program may be limited and transportation is the responsibility of the parents.
- Kindergarten
- Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before 1 September of the current year.
- Required documents include immunization records, certified birth certificate, and child’s social security number.
- Kindergarten is currently a full-day program.
- First Grade
- Children entering first grade must be 6 years old on or before 1 September of the current year, unless the child completed Kindergarten in another state.
- Required documents include immunization records, certified birth certificate, and child’s social security number.
- Second through Fifth Grade
- Elementary school configuration in most locations is Kindergarten through fifth grade.
- Required documents include immunization records and records from previous schools such as withdrawal papers, report cards, and portfolios.
- Sixth through Twelfth Grade Enrollment in Bishop, Cache, Elgin or Flower Mound contact the school Principal:
- Middle School includes grades six through eight. High School includes grades nine through twelve.
- Required documents include immunization records and records from previous schools such as withdrawal papers, report cards, and portfolios. The more complete the documentation you provide, the better you enable a school to place your child into appropriate classes.
- At this stage in their education, military-connected youth can encounter difficulties that can have a profound effect on careers and vocation. It is important while registering for these grades to ask questions about Oklahoma graduation requirements and to convey to guidance counselors a student’s intentions upon graduating.

Oklahoma Requirements for High School Graduation
STANDARD DIPLOMA GRADUATES (24 Credits)
4 English Courses: 4 units from English I, II, III, and IV, or Advanced English
3 Mathematics: 1 unit Algebra II, 1 unit Geometry, and 1 unit selected from ACT- recommended core courses: Algebra I, Trigonometry, Calculus, Computer Math, Computer Science, and courses beyond Algebra I
3 Science: 1 unit Chemistry I, 1 unit Physics, and 1 unit Biology
3 Social Studies: 1/2 unit United States Government, 1/2 unit Oklahoma History, 1 unit United States history, 1 unit World History.
1/2 Technology: 1/2 unit in the area of Technology
2 The Arts: 2 units or sets of competencies (includes Visual Art and General Music)
8 1/2 Electives
Note: The graduation requirement of the Lawton Public Schools is 24 credits. Elective and additions classes from the 5 areas above may be counted to obtain the 24 credits. |
